Mayor Baker To Attend Grand Opening Event For New Downtown Condominium Development

St. Petersburg, Florida, July 11, 2006 -- Mayor Rick Baker will be on hand this Thursday to help open the Sales Center for St. Petersburg's first residential arts community. The Arts will offer its residents a unique opportunity to live in an atmosphere that both appreciates and cultivates artistic expression. The grand opening of the Sales Center for The Arts will be held on Thursday, July 13, at 2 p.m. at the center's location at 850 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg.

The ceremony is about the newest development of The Arts, a downtown high-rise residential project which will include a new and expanded facility for St. Petersburg's Arts Center and an onsite collection of the works of renowned artist Dale Chihuly.

Mayor Baker will be joined by representatives of the development partners; John Hopengarten of the B.S.R. Group and Yaron David of ANB Enterprises; as well as Rob Giordano of the Arts Center.

"The launching of this project marks the beginning of an exciting new era for downtown St. Petersburg," said John Hopengarten, Managing Director of B.S.R. Group, the developing partner for The Arts. "The city has a longstanding reputation for supporting the arts, now its residents will have the opportunity to incorporate art into their lifestyle," he added.

With two, 31-story towers framing Central Avenue, the tallest buildings in downtown St. Petersburg, The Arts will include 503 luxurious residential units totaling over 850,000 square feet and approximately 30,000 square feet of retail space. Anchored by the new location of the Arts Center and home to a collection of works by renowned artist Dale Chihuly, The Arts will be located on Central Avenue between Eighth Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street. Scheduled to open first quarter of 2009, The Arts is being developed by the BSR Group, Ltd. in partnership with famed local developer Jimmy Aviram.
