Are you a hoarder of interesting knick-knacks and odds-and-ends that you put aside until the "right moment" presents itself? Now is the time to use your treasure trove. During this course, students use a variety of media to create assemblages combining traditional art materials with found objects. Together we'll have fun turning your junk into beautiful works of art.

The Art of Japanese Book Binding I

Learn the simplicity and beauty of the classic technique of Japanese bookbinding. Students wil learn about traditional materials and variations of accordian bookmaking.

The Art of Japanese Bookbinding II

This class will give the students the opportunity to learn the simplicity and beauty of another classic technique of Japanese bookbinding called "four hole pouch binding". Students will learn about the component parts for this specific type of binding as well as some of the different sewing patterns available for this binding technique.

Fantasy Character Creations

This is a class for beginning and advanced artists, who wish to explore the world of character creations known as maquettes. Learn armature building, foil padding, and Sculpey clay techniques. Whimsical and wacky to wild and weird characters are created, first from sketches then in the 3D format.
