Beginning students may also create pendants and simple chains. The jeweler's torch will be added as needed. Intermediate students will be assisted in adding to their skills and the complexity of their creations. Students may supply their own silver. Come prepared with some ideas and let's have fun! Make new rings, earrings and pendants. Bezel set and gypsy set faceted stones, and make a fabulous hand-forged sterling linked bracelet. This course includes lessons in making a rubber mold, creating and spruing a wax model, investing the wax model in a flask, burning it out, and casting a finished product. Instructor will cover the use of casting as applied to the creation of jewelry and works of art. Lab Fee $15 workshopsLoop-in-Loop Chain MakingJan WunschSaturday & Sunday, Oct. 4 & 5, 9:30am to 4pmLevels 2-5Course code 424Learn this ancient chain technique involving fusing and interlocking links together to form a flexible, beautiful chain. Introductory students will make samples of 3 or more chains in fine silver. Experienced students may proceed with more complex chains or terminations and clasps. Beginning students may take this class, but must have prior experience working with a jewelers torch. Materials List available before class. Celtic BraceletsDon RobertsSaturday & Sunday, Oct. 11 & 12, 10am to 4pmLevels 3-5Course code 483This workshop is for intermediate to advanced jewelry students. Learn how to solder multiple jump rings and set faceted stones in a prepared cabochon bezel. Soldering skills are a must. Materials Fee Fee: $25 |
