You will learn how to improve the exposure and contrast of your images and not have to throw away the ones that are too light or too dark. You'll learn how to get rid of the funny colors in your image, make the colors brighter, and be able to change the color of objects in the image (such as clothing, hair, or eyes.) You will learn how to use the Clone Stamp tool to remove unwanted objects from the image, smooth the skin, and remove blemishes. You'll learn how to put a little pizzazz in your presentation of your images by adding frames, edges, and special effects. Get to know some of the tips and tricks that the pros use to get the best shots. You'll also get instruction in Adobe Photoshop to correct, retouch, print, and e-mail your images. Strong emphasis will be given to design in the creation of your pieces and pertinent design principles will be explained. Topics covered include file format, color theory, and visual literacy for web. Students are encouraged to create and develop their own website with skills learned during the course. Some online research is given as a homework assignment for better assimilation of the topics. Dreamweaver is the software used, but there will be some exposure to HTML. A basic understanding of Photoshop is recommended to take this class. High Dynamic Range image creation has become an exciting way for digital photographers to capture a wider tonal range than ever before. Now Photoshop offers a "development" system that let's us combine exposures with relative ease. The class also explores the use of alternative software programs to give your images a creative look.
